Icebreaker Internship Program
Icebreaker’s Internship Program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Journalism, Broadcasting, Marketing, or Communication. Departments: Students do not choose a show or department. Placement is at the sole discretion of the Coordinator. Each student is selected and assigned on a first come, first served basis. The number of positions varies for each semester. Duties: Assignments vary day-to-day. Interns can expect to do clerical duties, social networking, promotions, marketing, and assisting staff members/On-Air Talent. Requirements: (ALL INTERNS MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE COLLEGE CREDIT) Students who are currently attending an accredited college and have achieved junior or senior status are eligible. Students majoring in journalism, marketing, broadcasting or communications are preferred; other majors will be considered. Participants must have good computer skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities and knowledge of current events. A 3.0 GPA or above is recommended. Students must be able to meet the minimum time commitment. Student must also provide written documentation from their University or College indicating number of credit hours that will be earned. Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Students are required to provide official documentation on school letterhead confirming that they will receive credit for the internship. This documentation must be on file prior to start date. Application Status: The office reviews all submitted applications and contacts qualified candidates for a phone interview. Sessions: Every School Semester Year Round Employment: Interns are not guaranteed a job after participating in the program. However they will be considered for any open positions with the highest regard. |
